Belt testing includes demonstrated proficiency in forms,
sparring, and breaking
Check the Colored Belt page for a list
of forms required for each colored belt.
Do I need previous experience?
- No!
Can I come watch/try a class for free? - Absolutely, we encourage you
to get used to class first, then make a decision if it's right for you.
How do belts work? - Though a testing is held monthly,
your instructor
will test you when he/she feels you are ready.
Will I get hurt? - Taekwondo is a an active contact sport, that is why
full protective equipment is worn during contact sparring. We provide ample time
and instruction for stretching, warm-up, and injury prevention.
Do I have to spar/compete? - No, some only wish to learn self-defense
or get in shape, that's fine!
How do I join the School?
If you have not trained in Tae Kwon Do before, we suggest you watch at least
one full class. Visitors are always welcome and no appointment is
necessary. Watching a large class will give you the opportunity to see
a wide variety of ages, body types, and levels of experience. After you have
watched a class, please speak with the instructor and ask any questions you
may have.
What do I need to begin training?
Gym clothes, such as sweats, which cover your knees and elbows, are all you
need. It is not necessary to purchase a uniform before you start.
